Ski trip day 1

The first morning we were there Lauren & I took ski lessons. I had been skiing one other time but never took lessons and was awful.
It was a 2 hour class and the longest 2 hours of my life. When we first started my calves were killing me they felt like they were staying flexed in my boots. I ended up having to get different boots. I was good to go after that.
While I was changing boots  I snapped a pic of Lauren in the class. 😜 the class felt like a lifetime and we did great. I was hesitant to do the lift and bunny slope still, so after lunch Lauren and I took a private lesson. I highly, highly, highly recommend private lessons. Our instructor was phenomenal by the end of the hour I was using the ski lift and going down the bunny slope without fear.
When we got back to our cabin these deer were all over the place. Ryan & I were lazy this night. We went to the grocery store and got a few things for sandwiches, took showers, and watched tv. I think we were asleep by 9. I wanted to rest up for my next day of bunny slope action.

Road trip day 1&2

Last Thursday afternoon we left the house in a huge hurry, got the kids dropped off with Lolly & pops and headed West.  We were supposed to leave Friday morning but Ryan had a job to measure up in Midland, so I packed us in about thirty minutes. Whew!
We didn't get on the road until about 4. We knew we would hit some traffic trying to get out of Dallas. It really wasn't all that bad until Ft. Worth. We sat on I-20 for an hour due to an over turned car.
After that it was pretty smooth sailing. We stopped at Whataburger for a quick dinner then headed on to Big Spring. We stopped there for the night because it's a littler cheaper to stay than Midland. We got up about 8 to go to the job site.
I always like tagging along to jobs with Ryan.
This was pretty much our view for the next 8 hours. I thought from midland we would have like a 4 hour drive to Red River. Ha! So wrong!!
We finally passed through a big town. I was kind of excited to go through Roswell. It's such a silly town & I had never been there before.
Ryan wasn't interested in stopping at the museum so I just took a pic.
There was these little alien things all over town. It would be so weird to live there & see these daily.
We continued driving and saw lots of this and about a million tumbleweeds. I was getting sooooo bored. And all Ryan would listen to was outlaw country on XM. We went about 250 miles without passing a town or gas station. I got so nervous when I heard the gas light ding. We were low On fuel without a town or sign in sight. We were coasting down big hills to save fuel and then we see a state trooper. Awesome! He was so kind to turn around, catch up and pull us over. I tried to take a picture of us pulled over but Ryan yanked my phone away and told me to be still. Rude. We were only going 10 over which I find very reasonable. I drive 8-10 over pretty much everywhere. The trooper didn't care we were about to run out of gas and gave us a ticket anyway. A couple more miles down the road there was finally a station. Hallelujah!!! We had about 5 miles to E.
Finally I was seeing mountains in the distance. We were close!!!
Seriously!!! Are we there yet!?? Longest.drive.ever

Summer Family pics

Last week we had our family pictures taken, and I am so in love with them. Amber did a great job getting what I had in mind.
My kids didn't make it easy though.
Olivia insisted on wearing her sunglasses, and crown.
I had to put iTunes on "Let It Go" just so she would think about cooperating.
We also had to play a game of Simon says so they would do what we asked.
In the end it was all worth it. I got some pictures I will forever cherish, and remember how they were at this age.
I'm so glad the bearded man let his beard down. It's not easy getting him to take it out of his "tail"
I can't wait to frame these.
Picture overload coming up

This kid seriously takes the BEST pictures.

How is it he is already turning 6??
And my baby is turning 3... I can't handle it!!

Thank you SO, SO, SO much Amber.
If you're looking for a photographer Amber is your girl. You can find her here, or here

St. John summer 2k14

If you follow me on Instagram you've probably noticed my StJohnsummer2k14 hashtag. I'm using it to document all of our fun summer activities.
So far we have a lot going on!
We started off our first day of summer with this yummy breakfast. Cinnamon rolls+waffle iron= yummy cinnamon roll waffles. These were to die.
Afterwards we headed to the monthly Home Depot work shop. Carson's friend,Tyler, met us up there. Today's craft was riding lawn mowers. I love these free work shops makes for a fun, free, summer activity.
After the work shop we went to the pool where I didn't take a single pic, then I surprised C by taking him to get a sno cone.
After naps we went to my moms for dinner and some more swimming.
Cam sandwich.
Thanks for dinner mom. It was yummy!

Spring baseball

Baseball is finally over for the season. We'll still have some practice but until fall no more games.
It's so nice to be able to sleep in on Saturdays, and not be rushing to the ball fields.
We made it to the play offs, but lost the second game putting us out.
Carson improved so much this season. He still has a long way to go but he'll get there. We had a great season.
While big brother is playing ball Olivia is playing beauty shop.
These girls have so much fun playing together.
Is she a diva or what?
