A day at the zoo

Saturday night my sil, Katy asked if we wanted to go to the zoo on Monday. She saw the high was only going to be 86. Perfect zoo weather!! Of course we said yes! We decided to dress them festively hoping to get a picture of them. 

Of course it's just about impossible with one two year old and an almost two year old. 

          These were the best we got.

We first went to the safari side. I love how they have these statues. Every time we come I make them sit on the elephants for pictures.

We had just missed the lion demonstration, but it was okay because he just sat in the front and let us look at him.

Then we went to the giraffes. The giraffes are my favorite. I love how you're able to get up so close to them. 

If you want to pay $5 for a leaf of lettuce you can even feed them.

Before we left the safari side c took some pictures on the land rover. He loves cars and trucks, it's in his blood. 

We went to see the gorillas but they were temporarily unavailable. Carson thought it would be fun to pick this ones nose. Ha!

He was thinking, mom, are you sure it's okay for me to put my head in here?

Carson kept calling these Bambi. They are called klip something... 

We saw some turtles. They used to have a part where these huge turtles just walked around in the open and you could touch them. It's only been a year since we've been here, and so much had changed.

These meerkats saw us and instantly started posing. They were too funny.

This monitor would follow Carson from one end of the glass to the next.

These two can be so sweet. I love they are so close in age.

I absolutely hate, hate, hate snakes. They are gross, creepy, and just scare me.  I honestly can't believe I even took pictures of them. Ew. I had nightmares about them because I saw so many that day! Luckily, Katy told Carson about each one he was interested in. 

This turtle had such a long neck. 

After we left the reptile building we stopped to eat our lunch. 

The zoo is so not strict about what food you bring in. I saw people with McDonald's and we brought sonic waters without a problem. 

They have a nice little picnic area. After lunch it was time to hit the water area and playground. 

Olivia having a melt down. She has one or two at least everyday. It's a good thing she's cute. 

She soon got over it and started playing.

Photo shoot fail

Today the kids and I went to downtown Wylie to attempt at getting some cute pictures in their red, white, and blue. We did get a couple, but not as many good ones as I had hoped. When one kid is cooperating the other is not. That's life, I guess.

I just love a good crying picture. Olivia gives them to me often.

She's strong willed, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

He's so handsome. I just love this little boy so much. Lolly had made my nephew, Pearson this shirt. I had to copy it and get one for c. So cute!

After torturing them with pictures we played at the park for a few minutes. I love how happy he looks in this picture.

I can't believe in just a few weeks Carson will be 5 and Olivia will be 2. Where does the time go?

Friday fun

Today we started off with McDonald's for breakfast. We never eat out for breakfast except Tuesdays for free chick fil a, so this was a real treat. 

After breakfast we headed to a small little aquatic center in Carrollton. 

My friend Heather is in town for a couple months so we met up to catch up and let the kids play. 

Adeline and Carson are about 4 months apart. Carson had fun pulling her around in the lazy river. 

Olivia had the most fun playing with the fountains.

It's so hard getting both kids to look at the same time. After we left we headed home for naps before our evening plans. That night Lauren and Charlie invited us to go out on their boat.

We had dinner at the marina then let the kids swim for a minute.

Once it got dark the fireworks started. 

I thought this picture was neat. It looks like an owl.

After the show was over we just hung out on the boat. It was a mad house at the ramp with everyone putting their boats up. We finally got home about 1230. We always have fun with Lauren and Charlie. Thanks for inviting us out!

Pool play date

Thursday we had plans to meet up with a friend for a pool play date. 

Tyler and Carson are only a couple months apart. They have a lot of fun playing together. Tyler also has a little sister. She is just a couple weeks shy of a year younger than Olivia. 

Olivia loves playing with her tea cups at the pool. My kids are such water babies.

After we left my friend sent me a text asking if I wanted her baby. 

I love the way she asked. It cracked me up. 

I could hear Olivia giving her kisses the whole way home.

In order to get anything done around the house or keep my kids off of her I had to "wear" her. 

Harper did not mind one bit. She loved spending the afternoon with us, and we loved having her. 

Hfalls with meme

Wednesday we met my mom, brother, uncle, and cousin at Hawaiian falls. We have season passes so we go about 2-3 times a week. 

The older I get the more chicken I become of riding rides. My brother talked me into riding two "scary" rides. 

This one is the torpedo. You get in a capsule, then the floor drops out, and you fall to the bottom. It really wasn't all that scary, but gives you a major wedgie. 

I also rode this one, I can't remember what they call it. The picture doesn't do it justice of how scary it looks. It's really high and drops straight to the bottom. It wasn't all that scary, but I probably won't ride it again. 

I usually pack us lunch to take but with our passes you get pretty good coupons.  Today I was lazy and decided to just eat there. I thought this picture of Olivia was funny. She just likes eating the toppings off the pizza. 

I think she really enjoyed it. Ha!! 

We had a great time. We can't wait to go again!

Headed home

It's kind of a tradition for us to take a family picture on the balcony the day we leave. 

My camera wasn't on the right setting for the type of lighting so it didn't turn out all that great. I never checked it until we got home. Bummer. At least we got one.
