Doctors visit & some shopping

This morning I picked Carson up early from school to take him to the dr. I thought I was just taking him in for allergies, but last minute the dr decided she wanted to do a strep test on him. Unfortunately, it came back positive.
She said it's possible he could just be a carrier of it, and would test him for it at a well visit to see the results. So, for now we're  on singulair for allergies, and augmentin to fight off the strep, and sinus infection.
Once we finally got out of the doctors office we went to have lunch at taco bueno. I just love how cheap we can eat here. $3 for two party burritos, a soft taco, and chips & queso! I had a few errands to run while I didn't have miss priss. We went and picked her up a new car seat for her vday gift.
I've been waiting for babies r us to have their trade in event to get her a new seat at a better price. I got her seat for a whopping $40. I traded in a bouncer to get 25% off then I had $80 in gift cards. I wanted a more girly one, but those were $50 more. No thanks! After that we went and I got more make up.
I only like Mac foundation. It's light weight, and evens out my skin the best. It lasts me about a year, so I can justify buying it. Finally, we went to target to pick up his meds. Taking a kid to the doctor is expensive. $35 co pay, and $60 in antibiotics. Why did I not go to medical school?
Target was putting out their spring line. I had to tell myself no to buying Olivia this dress, and a couple of other things. I just love target for little girl clothes. Every now, and then I find cute stuff there for C.  Even though Carson was sick, I so enjoyed spending the day with him.  I really need to be better about having dates with him.

Our star student

Last week I went to eat lunch with Carson at school. His teacher pulled me aside to let me know he would be receiving an award on Friday.
After I dropped him off at school I went in to save some seats close to the stage to make sure we would be able to get good pictures.
Before the assembly. He didn't know he was getting an award.
Carson was excited daddy came.
Waiting on stage for all the other star students to be called.
Carson's teacher, Mrs. Scherer. She told him he got the award because he always uses his manners.
(His name was misspelled, but it's fixed now)

Carson we are so proud of you. We love that you love going to school, and love your teachers, and friends. You are such a sweet little boy with such a loving heart. Keep it up!!

Home Depot work shop

Every first Saturday of the month Home Depot does a free kids work shop. I've taken c to the Lowe's one before, but Home Depot is closer so we tried it out to see how we liked it.
The work shop this month was building a ring toss. I nailed the nails to where they were holding the sides together and then let him finish. He did a pretty good job.
He looks so cute concentrating.
I had planned on Olivia staying home and just having a morning with c. Ryan had to work so Olivia had to go. She stood by my side the whole time. I don't think she liked going.
After he built his ring toss he was ready to paint. He loves the color red, so he started with that first.
Here's the finished product. I told him it looked like ketchup and mustard. We had fun at the work shop I can't wait until next months.

I'm a big kid now

No more pull ups or diapers. I'm so proud. Carson officially pooped in the potty on his own today. I can now feel comfortable to say he is potty trained. He has been going pee pee on his own for a couple of weeks I was just waiting on him to poop, and he did! This is an old picture, but I was too lazy to try and get him to smile for me. I wish I could say that I'm excited to save money on diapers, but those diaper buying days aren't over yet. I'm already stocking up for the next one. I'm just glad I won't have two in diapers at the same time!

Hobo or Elvis?

I finally have Carson's costume narrowed down to two.I am pretty set on the hobo one, I just dont' know if it's appropriate for a two year old. I love the Elvis one too I am just not sure if Carson will keep a wig on. I have had the hardest time choosing a costume this year because last years is so hard to beat. He just looked adorable. I know I probably put way to much thought into this, but this will be my last year I get to choose his costume. Next year he will probably want to be batman, spiderman, or hulk. I am really not into characters. I also want him to win first place in the costume contest again. I know it's shallow, but I always got first place in the contests I was in so I want to keep the tradition going.

Back to school

Today Carson started back at Mother's Day Out. I really had high hopes that he would be fine when I dropped him off. I couldn't have been more wrong. I had been telling him if he was a good boy we would go to wal mart and get him a toy boat or monster truck so all he had been talking about was wal mart. We walk in, print his sticker, and start heading to class. He tried to go to his old classroom first I think he would have been fine there because it's still familiar, but he's not a baby anymore. I finally get him to his new teachers, he starts crying, throwing all his body weight onto the floor so it's hard to pick him up, and finally goes in. I know he will have fun, they eat, go outside, dance to music, and read some books which are some of his favorite things to do. Hopefully after couple of weeks of going he will be back in his old routine!

Trying to unlock the back door. I hope he doesn't figure it out anytime soon. I'm not sure what we are going to do about this yet.
