Pumpkins Texas Style

Yesterday my sil and I met up at the Arboretum to get a little sneak peek of the Texas themed pumpkin display. I had no idea that it was going to be Texas themed, I just happened to have put Olivia in the perfect outfit. The Dallas Arboretum always puts on a great pumpkin display, they had 75,000 pumpkins, and ghourds. I'm so glad Katy asked us to go. I'm going to just let the pictures speak for themselves. I can't choose a favorite.

Well we tried!
When we came out to Katy's car she realized she couldn't turn her key, and the steering wheel was completely locked. We tried everything we could, and just couldn't get it. This had to happen on a day Ryan was gone to East Texas for a job. Luckily, we had my car to sit in to wait for AAA in A/C.
Having a DVD player in my car really helped us out. It kept the kids entertained for about an hour. Of course the Tow man was able to get her car working again, and she was able to make it back home to Tyler. The way I look at it we got some extra time together.

Pre-K cutie

My sweet girl started Pre K a couple weeks ago.
(Side note: I had bought her a really cute first day of school outfit that was supposed to be delivered in time, but it wasn't. So, we are wearing one Lolly made from last year.)
I moved Olivia to a new preschool this year. Her other one was good, but for the money I just expected more from it. I have been so pleased already with the change.
It was a little harder dropping her off this year. I think it was mostly, because I was dropping her off at a new school that was unfamiliar to both of us.
She was ready to tackle the day and meet new friends.
It wasn't the easiest morning for pictures. Next year I'm going to have to do pictures the weekend before school starts. I am going to be busy trying to get two kids ready for big kid school. EEK!
She has the best facial expressions. There is just so much sass and spunk in a little body.

Her routine at school is to go drop her backpack, lunchbox, and water bottle off, then go to Chapel.
In Chapel they have a little bible verse they go over, then sing a few songs, and off to class they go.

Sparkle darling

The beginning of August we celebrated Olivia's fourth birthday. I wanted something easy, so we opted for Chick-fil-a.
I highly recommend doing a birthday party at CFA. Our CFA doesn't let you make reservations, because it's a smaller location. I know other locations will, and they will set it all up for you and bring out the cow.
We did a sparkle theme. I loved the color combos of everything. I wish I could redecorate her room in all of this stuff.

The set up was super easy. I found free printables online for décor, put them in frames that she has in her room.
The only décor I bought were the balloons, and table runner. I had this table cloth, I thought it matched better until I took it out of the package. It was more purply pink.
I also made this cake stand using stove covers, and candle sticks from dollar tree. I spray painted all of it white then glued it together. So easy and turned out pretty cute.

Before her guests came we took a few family photos. Olivia refused to take a normal picture with my mom. She had some silly face in every single one. Typical Olivia.
Obligatory birthday party family photo.

I had the party at 1030 AM. I thought it worked out pretty well. Bfast rush was ending, and we wrapped it up right as lunch rush was starting. The kids played for a little bit, then I bought the kids lunch. This was a super cheap party, I can't believe I haven't had one here before. I kept it super simple this year and even did Evites. I'm bummed, because I didn't realize my evites didn't go to everyone I thought it did until after the party. So, if you didn't get an invite it was operator error. Sorry friends!
After we ate we sang  happy birthday then did presents. If I ever have a party here again I won't buy cupcakes or a cake. I think everyone just about traded their book for ice cream and didn't care to have cake. Luckily I like cake, and they didn't get wasted. :) Thank you everyone who did get the invitation and were able to make the party. Olivia had a great time celebrating with you.

Where paci go?

Saturday night Olivia lost her paci somewhere inside the house. This has been a huge blessing for me! I've been wanting to take it away since she turned 2. (She has only had it nap & bed time since then) She was looking all around for it saying, "paci, where are you?" In her sweetest little voice.
After about thirty minutes of looking she finally gave in to going to bed with her barbies. She wasn't too thrilled about it, but she did it. She really didn't fuss as much as I thought, just was being a pouty pants. I think she thought we could go to the store and I would buy her more. She was saying, "go to target, get more pacis."
The only time she really cried for it was at nap time yesterday. It only lasted about 30 minutes, not too terrible. Olivia still asks for it, but I just tell her its gone, she's a big girl now. So, now I'm on the hunt for a lost paci in the house. I feel like my baby isn't so much a baby anymore. She potty trained herself in a day a couple weeks ago, and now she's paci free. I'm proud of her, but also having a hard time that my last baby I will ever have is growing up!
